Premonition - I'm on THE WALL

At the University of Oregon Media & Journalism school, they have photos of famous graduates called the "Wall of Achievement." You get on it by doing something socially redeeming in media with your life. It has nothing to do with money, but all to do with the skills of communication.

When I first saw it, I knew I wanted to get Up Against THAT WALL. (old 1970's expression)
A few weeks ago, I went to the Department to pay my respects to the END of BROADCAST TV (see other pix) - I noticed a graduation awards ceremony happening the next day. I was in need of higher thoughts in media, some higher thinking that sends graduates into the real world. I wanted some Media "soul food" to help re-purpose myself. I still thrive on that stuff.

Being un-invited, I waited by the side of the white tents 'till it started. While there I looked in front of me, and there I was, perfectly positioned in a ray of sunlight and reflected in a window, and thru that window was the Wall of Achievement, and on closer inspection, on that wall - in one of the frames on that wall, was a tiny reflection of ME! Yikes! All perfectly aligned.

SO - I grabbed my camera and took this pix. There I am, camera in hand with in my Apron, with long hair, daut Diedra's orange HOPE bracelet and camera - perfectly centered inside a frame above famous author Randy Shiltz. This pix turned out so perfectly that it almost looks fake. But it isn't. Really!!

THIS PIX of DRIX makes me very happy because there are so many levels to it. Visually, emotionally, spiritually and spontaneously.

Gee, I hope my apron and hair look this good when we take the real one in a few years. (clix pix to enlarge)
