WHO IS HE? (Best Friend of Thomas Crapper) Where is he (Mostly England) Why is this funny. It isn't, unless you think it is. It does make a great wallpaper. And yes, it is the bowl of a toilet from 1943 - so now you know... the story whole.

Father's Day on High St

Sunset - Father's Day - High Street Cafe - Eugene, OR - DRiX and his shadow - fill the moment with a great hamburger and magic sunset lighting.
Odd expression and hat hair BUT that shadow in the back - the grid - the wall - nicely interesting stuff goin' on there.

Premonition - I'm on THE WALL

At the University of Oregon Media & Journalism school, they have photos of famous graduates called the "Wall of Achievement." You get on it by doing something socially redeeming in media with your life. It has nothing to do with money, but all to do with the skills of communication.

When I first saw it, I knew I wanted to get Up Against THAT WALL. (old 1970's expression)
A few weeks ago, I went to the Department to pay my respects to the END of BROADCAST TV (see other pix) - I noticed a graduation awards ceremony happening the next day. I was in need of higher thoughts in media, some higher thinking that sends graduates into the real world. I wanted some Media "soul food" to help re-purpose myself. I still thrive on that stuff.

Being un-invited, I waited by the side of the white tents 'till it started. While there I looked in front of me, and there I was, perfectly positioned in a ray of sunlight and reflected in a window, and thru that window was the Wall of Achievement, and on closer inspection, on that wall - in one of the frames on that wall, was a tiny reflection of ME! Yikes! All perfectly aligned.

SO - I grabbed my camera and took this pix. There I am, camera in hand with in my Apron, with long hair, daut Diedra's orange HOPE bracelet and camera - perfectly centered inside a frame above famous author Randy Shiltz. This pix turned out so perfectly that it almost looks fake. But it isn't. Really!!

THIS PIX of DRIX makes me very happy because there are so many levels to it. Visually, emotionally, spiritually and spontaneously.

Gee, I hope my apron and hair look this good when we take the real one in a few years. (clix pix to enlarge)

Eugene too

EUGENE TWO - TOO!

Here's Simon's wet jeep at the Horham, England Airbase Reunion of my friends of the 95th Bomb Group. "First B-17's over Berlin" - 3/4/1944

Note; I'm sizing these so they'll make a good wallpaper for your computer too.

DRiX PiX - First Post - the End of TV.

DRiX PiX starts HERE, with an end after Midnight, FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2009.

BROADCAST TV also called just TV.

The end The TV Era - would end in 9 hours when analog TV transmitters SHUT DOWN. Wow!

I was inspired to reconnect
with an old friend. A huge old RCA TV Studio Camera from years before. It was on display at the University of Oregon Journalism school. This very camera taught me Media Principles that go way past hardware.
The DIGITAL AGE approaches. I was ready to Pass this Portal with some ceremony and
this is what I saw...

Here is me - I am DRiX.
I did TV, now I do PiX.
